Caught this short video of Meg talking today - right before she erupted into her afternoon fussy time. I LOVE listening to her sweet little voice!

We are almost to the fourth week of life: four weeks that mark the birth of our little girl and of our new family. Looking at the clock, I've got about ten minutes before she wakes, and I'm determined to post today...even if it's a minute few sentences. Words are insufficient to describe the changes that began in our house on August 28, 2009. I remember learning in a college psychology class that the emotion and language centers in our brains aren't connected, a point which explains why we humans have a lackluster (in)ability to describe our feelings. Me? I believe God surrounds new life in miraculous mystery, an event that leaves all partakers speechless with joy. Truly, viewing the face of one's new-born, fresh, unscathed-by-the-world child is to have an encounter with our creator. All the moments that follow, then, like wisps of a dream, are beautiful gifts of responsibility, reminders of the treasure with which we've been entrusted to guide, love, and protect.
*** "Time's up," Meg announces through the monitor...more to follow (I have a feeling this birth story will take place in short snippets of time!) ***
