Baby Doll

Much to her mama's delight, Meggie discovered her baby doll this morning. Her baby doll sits in a rocking chair in her play room, and prior to this morning, I would occasionally take her doll and show Meg how to "rock" the baby or "burp" the baby or "kiss" the baby. These attempts would be met with a puzzled stare and then she was off to more physical endeavors. THIS morning, however, I showed Meg how mama "cuddles" the baby and then gave the baby a big kiss. I said, "Meg, can YOU kiss the baby?" And, what do you know? She toddled over, picked her baby right out of my arms, and gave the baby a big, slobbery kiss on her face. Then, she proceeded to take her baby everywhere with her including for a ride on her new pink princess scooter, a birthday present from my cousin, Kaitlin. I even spied her later, when I was giving Meg some independent play time while I paid some bills, rocking her baby and kissing her baby on her own. I love this new stage in her development where she's begun to imitate Kyle and me. She also now wants to "brush" her hair and teeth and talk on the phone, putting her play phone up to her ear and then to mine.

Here she is with her baby doll - there aren't any of her looking at the camera - every time I framed the cutest!!! shot of her smiling with the baby, it would take my ancient camera practically five minutes to take the picture, after which time the moment was gone (which finally prompted me to GET SERIOUS about buying a new camera and I've since been researching customer reviews all morning - any thoughts about a camera you like???)...these are a lot of "right after the moment" shots, but I think they're still blog-worthy. :) ...

  2. hey! In regards to your camera question, I got Donald an Olympus point and click last year and we both LOVE it...it's really slim (would fit in your pocket) and takes great photos really quick. We also have a Nikon D5000 and we really love that as well. :)
