But then he came home from work today and said that his event was posted to begin at 3:00. PM. On a Friday. And when we have littles that neeeed to eat by 5:00, the timing just does not work out so well. So, we flipflopped our schedule, and went out tonight.
We went back where we ate on our excursion that first weekend here, and ate seafood on a pier overlooking the water. There were seagulls and boats and each girl ate in practically silence, taking in all the new surroundings. Our table was next to an older couple's, who struck up a conversation. Turns out that they lived in Oklahoma for 25 years and flew a plane out of the Guthrie Airport - about ten minutes from our house. It was such a refreshing experience to talk about our "home" with others who love and know the same place.
More than once Kyle and I looked at each other and said, "This is fun. This dinner out is really nice." (But not TOO loudly because we didn't want to tempt the girls into any shennanigans...)
After dinner there was ice cream. And after ice cream there was bedtime. And after bedtime was a long catch-up conversation with a very dear friend.
In the morning, the girls and I are meeting an old friend of my old friend and (one) roommate from college.
SIGH...my soul is going to bed full and satisfied tonight. :)
I've been wanting to post these two videos for a loooooong time now and finally got around to uploading them tonight. I figured they could go well with my super-lengthy AV update. The first is of AV's wave when it was brand-new (about six weeks ago). And the second is one I took of her "dancing" to this musical CD player toy. I just love how excited she gets when the music plays - what an angel! :)
Enjoy!
